As most of our clever Toyota drivers know, the Japanese automaker was the first to premiere a mass-produced hybrid vehicle with the Toyota Prius. The Prius is now in its third-generation, and it's added several more members to its hybrid family. One of the newest additions to this line-up is the 2012 Toyota Prius c, a five-door hatchback with a lot of style and a very affordable price.

Coming in at a whopping 542 pounds lighter, 19 inches shorter, and 1 inch lower than the standard Prius, the new Prius c is a lighter, even more fuel efficient version…

Toyota Will Hit 25 Million Milestone in 2012

Toyota might not be the oldest automaker in the world, but it does sell the most vehicles. This year, the company has plans to produce its 25 millionth vehicle this year, as well as begin production on the innovative new Toyota EV RAV4.

Toyota managed to be very successful in 2011, despite environmental setbacks in Japan, including a tsunami and earthquake, as well as flooding in Thailand. The company was somehow able to ramp up production at the end of the year to catch up with its competitors despite huge shortages in vehicle parts and damaged factories.

The Japanese automaker…

Toyota Prius Camper Variant

California loves Prius. It is the place where hybrid cars are dreamed up, after all. It's no wonder Toyota Prius is such a hit.

There's plenty of cargo room in both the sedan and Prius-V variants, but if you need a little more storage space, there's an answer. Camp-Inn has designed an extension of Prius rear hatch space, on display at the annual Tokyo Auto Salon. It's a new kind of roof camper.

The device extends rear capacity, as well as protected roof storage by 20 inches. With your Prius rear seating folded down, Camp-Inn claims…

Toyota Releases Teaser Video for NS4 Plug-In Hybrid

Toyota is moving forward in the world of hybrids at a rate that other automakers simply can't keep up with. The Japanese automaker hasn't even officially release the Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid, and already they're planning to unveil another plug-in at the 2012 North American International Auto Show!

While some might accuse other automakers of saturating the market, Toyota of Braintree knows that there are many different types of car buyers out there. And for Toyota to get drivers to start taking hybrid, plug-in, and EV technology seriously, they need to offer more options. That's where…

Intel and Toyota Join Forces

With the release of the Entune infotainment system, it only makes sense that Toyota would seek to improve it even further for use in future vehicles. Toyota also knows, however, that as in-vehicle multimedia systems become more advance, the demands of drivers will grow accordingly. This escalation is the reason behind the Japanese automaker's recent partnership with Intel.

While this represents a huge step in the right direction for Toyota, especially with its recent release of the Entune system, the company with the most to gain is actually Intel. The tech giant is a part of the Genivi Alliance…

After the Flooding in Thailand, Toyota Fights Back

After facing the mountain that was the tsunami and earthquake that struck Japan in March, Toyota is ready to fight back from anything. Recently, the company's parts suppliers in Thailand were struck by floods that disrupted shipments, and as a result, Toyota was forced to cut production by ten percent at its plants in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

However, if there's any proof that Toyota has learned how to recover from its first round of production disruptions, it's this latest round of flooding. The Japanese automaker's manufacturing plans are already back on track after…
