What are the Fuel Economy Ratings of a New Toyota Tacoma
What are the fuel economy ratings of the new Tacoma?
The Toyota Tacoma has been reputed for years to be one of the most reliable small trucks ever made.
One of its accomplishments has been finding the right balance between off-road performance and power with fuel economy. A two wheel drive Tacoma, for example, can achieve 26 MPG on the highway.
Since the fuel economy is different for each configuration, here is how the MPG rating works out for different trims and styles on the 4 4-wheel drive models:
For the standard 4 cyl Turbo:
SR5 XtraCab: 19 MPG City/ 24 MPG Highway, 21 MPG Combined.
TRD Double Cab: 19 MPG City/ 23 MPG Highway, 21 MPG Combined
When you go to the 4 cyl turbo- Hybrid engine, (The i-Force Max), you get up to 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, and the fuel economy actually gets better:
On a Double Cab with the i-Force Max, the fuel economy is rated as 22 MPG in the City, 24 MPG highway, and 23 combined.
A number of employees here at Toyota of Braintree own Tacomas, and we will happily share our "real world" experience with the truck.
If you want to see the fuel economy ratings listing on the actual EPA website, that is here: EPA Ratings for the Toyota Tacoma
When you factor in the standard features like Apple Carplay (and Android Auto), Toyota Safety Sense, and the composite bed that isn’t susceptible to dents, scratches and rust like the metal bed on most other trucks, you can see why the Tacoma is such an excellent value.
