What is the Towing Capacity of 2025 Tacoma?
How Much Can the New 2025 Tacoma Tow?
A common question asked while shopping for a new truck is "What is the towing capacity?"
Most Tacoma trims come standard with a Class-IV (2 inch) towing hitch receiver and a wiring harness with a seven-pin/four-pin connector. This is a feature is standard on all Tacomas, except the SR XtraCab Rear Wheel Drive with the 6 ft bed.
On all those gas models (with the i-FORCE 2.4 liter turbo engine) excepting the above mentioned SR RWD, the towing capacity is a maximum of 6,500 lbs. On the Tacomas equipped with the i-FORCE MAX 2.4 liter Turbocharged HYBRID, the towing capacity is a maximum of 6,000 lbs. (The Trailhunter is just slightly less at 5,950 lbs with the 6 ft bed).
The Tacoma also has available trailering technologies, such as an integrated brake controller, Trailer Backup Guide with Straight Path Assist, and the Blind Spot Monitor, to make towing your cargo as simple and convenient as possible. You can get the SR, the TRD Sport, and the TRD OFF-Road in an available 6 spd manual shift too!
With that type of towing capacity, you can comfortable get a small boat, trailer, jet ski, or utility trailer around, whether you are on the South Shore, in Boston, or headed up to through the White Mountains!
